StowSnap ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Tartan Studios. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the StowSnap mobile application.

Information We Collect

When you use StowSnap, we collect the following information:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Inventory data: Bin names, item names, descriptions, tags, photos, values, and other details you enter about your belongings.
• Household data: Household name, member associations, and invite codes.
• Device information: Device type and operating system version for troubleshooting and compatibility.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the StowSnap service, including storing and syncing your inventory across devices.
• Enable household sharing features so family members can access shared inventory.
• Generate labels, exports, and reports you request.
• Improve the app and fix bugs.
• Send important account notifications (e.g., email verification).

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure, which provides encryption in transit and at rest. Photos are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage. We implement security rules to ensure users can only access data belonging to their own household.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data may be shared in the following limited circumstances:

• Household members: Users in your household can see all bins, items, and inventory data.
• Service providers: We use Google Firebase for authentication, database, and storage services. Their privacy policy applies to infrastructure-level data handling.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or legal process.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data through the app at any time.
• Export your complete inventory via the Export feature (PDF or CSV).
• Delete your account and all associated data through the app's Settings screen.
• Leave a household at any time, removing your association with that household's data.

Camera & Photos

StowSnap requests camera access to scan QR codes and photograph items. Photos are uploaded to secure cloud storage associated with your household. We do not access, analyze, or use your photos for any purpose other than displaying them in your inventory.

Children's Privacy

StowSnap is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of StowSnap after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
